Description[]

Steve-O Malone is Dynasty Barry's ex-boyfriend and is totally bonkers about her. When he sees Dynasty with Kevin Chalk he gets furious seeing 'his girl' with another lad. He's the main antagonist of the four-parter in Series Eight spanning episodes 23, 24, 25 and 26.

History[]

Backstory[]

Not much is known about Steve-O prior to his first appearance, other than he was in prison and had just gotten parole.

Reuniting with Dynasty[]

In Series 8 episode 23, Steve-O returns and comes in to contact with Dynasty's brother Barry Barry and lets him know how he feels about the situation he's in. He is not fond of Kacey and the fact that she is transgender and attacks her whilst Barry is watching. Dynasty also breaks up with him after he stole new computers that Lorraine Donnegan had donated for the new IT lab. He later witnesses Dynasty kissing Kevin Chalk and confronts Kevin, threatening him to stay away from Dynasty.

Terrorising Kevin, raping Dynasty and antagonising Connor[]

Following his breakup with Dynasty, Steve-O decides to stick around in an effort to try and win her back. He takes over Barry's money loaning business and begins antagonising Connor Mulgrew as he was paying Barry interest on a Truck he purchased (whilst not confirmed on screen, it's possible this could be Nikki Boston's Car that was stolen in Series 8 episode 11), Steve-O eventually burns Connor's truck due to his consistent late payments. In Series 8 episode 25 he breaks into Kevin's flat where he and Dynasty are staying, threatens Dynasty and Kevin to stay away from each other which is why Dynasty breaks up with Kevin, as she is scared that Steve-O will hurt him, which leaves Kevin devastated. Steve-O also continues antagonising Connor over the interest he still owes on the truck which was written off after the damage done in the fire.

Steve-O breaks into Connor's house and takes several possessions of not only Connor's but also Michael Byrne, he also discovers Connor's marriage to Imogen Stewart. Eventually Connor is forced to confess to Michael the trouble he's in, he's made to return the items by Michael who also pays off Connor's debt. This isn't the end of things however as Steve-O blackmails Connor into robbing houses for him or else he will tell Sally Stewart about his marriage with Imogen. Steve-O soon rapes Dynasty and Kevin finds out about this.

In Series 8 episode 26, Dynasty admits this to Kevin who goes ballistic and takes drastic measures. Instead of calling the police and reporting a rape case, he hatches a plan to get a gun and shoot Steve-O instead with the help of Barry.

When Kevin and Connor Mulgrew arrive at the place where Barry leaves the gun for Kevin to pick up, Barry and Steve-O are there and Steve-O has the gun, but when he goes to pull the trigger on Kevin he finds the gun has no ammo. To the shock of Kevin and Connor, Barry double crossed Steve-O as he knew Dynasty and when she was lying, and so planned to set up Steve-O, calling the police which resulted in Steve-O's arrest and Kevin along with Connor were taken into custody. Steve-O's last on screen appearance was him being escorted by police into the police station.

Steve-O was mentioned in Series 8 episode 27 when Dynasty mentions that Carol Barry called Steve-O's mum to apologise for her with Barry saying that she was trying to keep the peace.

Steve-O was not seen again after this so his fate is up to interpretation, the most common idea is that he was sent back to prison and was put on trial for his crimes.

Relationships[]

Dynasty Barry: Dynasty was the love of Steve-O's life and was the only thing keeping him going whilst he was inside. He proposed after they reunited and the relationship continued until Dynasty discovered that he stole new computers that Lorraine had donated for a new IT Lab

Attempted Murders[]

Kevin Chalk (Series 8 Episode 26): Steve-O held Kevin and Connor at Gunpoint after discovering their plan to kill him, though this was prevented by Barry Barry.

Connor Mulgrew (Series 8 Episode 26): He held both Connor and Kevin and Gunpoint after discovering their plan to kill him, this was prevented by Barry Barry.

Trivia[]
