Kenzie Calhoun is a new character to Waterloo Road. She is a Kleptomaniac and cannot read or write, having failed to learn to do so before she started at Waterloo Road School. She cares for her mother, who has ME. She's one of the main female protagonists of the second half of the final series
Kenzie stated that Scott Fairchild previously 'took her virginity'. Kenzie gets on well with her new deputy head teacher after she confessed that she could not read or write. In Episode 12, she claims that Christine Mulgrew treats her like a child when she is being taught the basics of reading and writing, Christine says it has to be done. Finally Kenzie says to Lorna that she want her to teach her and Christine, Lorna and Vaughan come to a decision about what to do. In episode 12, she encourages Scott to do the right thing for once and as he listens to her she feels proud to have made an impression.
In Episode 14 during the Geography field trip Kenzie finds out from Bonnie that Scott Fairchild has been sleeping with her mother. Kenzie took a turn from that and gave the silent treatment to her mother for a few days. She left home after she had an argument with her mum during episode 16, but Scott went to speak with Kenzie's mum after Justin Fitzgerald convinced him to fix everything as the problems were caused by Scott. Later, Scott Fairchild spoke to Alisa (Kenzie's mother) and she made amends with Kenzie, and after that Kenzie returned home.
